MEET CHARLIE
Different personalities. Different strengths. One big team.

Charlie is a young boy who sees and experiences the world in his own unique way. He loves blue pencils, keeping his belongings organized, building LEGOs, drawing, and spending time with the people he trusts.
Sometimes loud noises can feel overwhelming. New places can be difficult. And meeting new people can take time. That’s where Charlie’s superhero headphones come in.
They are more than just headphones. They are one of the tools Charlie uses to make the world feel a little quieter and more manageable.
But Charlie’s real superpower isn’t his headphones. It’s his courage to keep trying.
Every Charlie story gives him a new challenge to navigate — and a new opportunity to discover that being different doesn’t mean being alone.
Charlie doesn’t always feel brave. Sometimes he feels nervous. Sometimes he feels overwhelmed. Sometimes he needs a little extra time. And that’s okay.
Charlie learns that being brave doesn’t mean never feeling scared. Being brave can mean taking one small step even when something feels difficult.
Different personalities.
Different strengths.
One big team.

Jack is part of Charlie’s growing circle of friends. He appears in Charlie’s school and social adventures, helping Charlie feel more comfortable as he becomes part of the group.
At Liam’s birthday party, Jack notices Charlie’s superhero cape and gives him a simple compliment — creating a small moment that helps Charlie feel welcome. Sometimes, a few kind words can make a big difference.
Charlie’s Mum helps him prepare for new experiences and reminds him that it’s okay to feel nervous. She listens to his worries, gives him reassurance, and helps him find practical ways to cope.
Whether Charlie is preparing for school, attending a party, or bringing Daphne home, Mum gives him the patience and support he needs. She doesn’t expect Charlie to stop being nervous. She helps him know that he can be nervous and still be brave.
Charlie’s Dad helps him make sense of unfamiliar situations. He gives Charlie time, explains what is happening, and reminds him that new things often take time to feel comfortable.
When Charlie struggles to understand Daphne’s behavior after bringing her home, Dad helps him connect Daphne’s experience with his own first days at school. Through Dad, Charlie learns an important lesson: sometimes the kindest thing we can give someone is time.
Mrs. Arteta is Charlie’s teacher when he starts elementary school. From the moment she welcomes Charlie into her classroom, she creates a calm and approachable environment.
She gives Charlie time when he struggles to speak in front of the class and encourages him to participate in his own way. Mrs. Arteta helps Charlie discover that school can become a place where he feels safe enough to learn, grow, and make friends.
Daphne is an older rescue dog Charlie meets at an animal shelter. Unlike the many dogs barking around her, Daphne is quiet, gentle, and a little unsure. Charlie recognizes something familiar in her.
Just as Charlie sometimes needs time to feel safe in a new place, Daphne needs time to understand that her new home is safe too. Their friendship teaches Charlie that patience works both ways. Sometimes love means giving someone space until they’re ready to come closer.
Sally is the kind woman who welcomes Charlie and his family to the animal shelter. She notices Charlie’s headphones and shares that her own daughter wears headphones too. Rather than making Charlie feel different, Sally helps him feel understood.
She also introduces Charlie to Daphne and gives him the chance to connect with her at his own pace.
